If I could only have one word to describe this bag it would be WOW!!!. I can tell you Ive used the traditional cylindrical, roll down tail bags and while they do the job there are some key issues with them. One, everything is piled into one space and consequently you have to dig to find the smaller items that find their way to the bottom of the bag necessitating removing everything on top to get at them. Also the round shape means lashing down other bags on top means they find their way down the front of the bag or the back of the bag in rough terrain, so youll need to make adjustments often. Now onto this miracle... The main compartment is large but more wide than tall. This means most items are right where you can see them and remove just those items. The wide opening is wonderful and the top flap is more ridged with a zippered pocket on it where you can keep documents of any size handy at a moments notice. The top is a large flat surface with a Molle system. Anything strapped down using this system stays in place and this also allows the main compartment to be opened without removing anything strapped to the top - genius! There are extremely robust tie down loops front and back of the bag which integrates perfectly with their tent bag that can be used for anything - I highly recommend purchasing this additional bag. There are other tie down points made of hard plastic and Velcro straps along the lower side front and back presumably for additional tie down points to pannier racks. Whew.. lets go on... Ok there are two very large zippered pockets on each side separate from the main compartment. They are perfect for often used items like large water bottles, jackets, snacks, etc. Then there is a front pocket almost the width of the main compartment. I have to mention the zippers only because weve all suffered with those zippers that are just a pain to open and close as they usually take two hands. These are without a doubt the best zippers known to man. They open and close buttery smooth and are a one-handed operation - seriously, I just thought all zippers were alike until I used these - You just wouldnt even think about such things and then these zippers come along.. silly as that sounds, trust me youll see the vast difference little things like this can make. So, Im sure Ive missed something.. Oh, just how well this sits on a top rack or across the pillion seat - nice and low and secure. Oh and the tie downs.... there are many to attach this to your frame or a top rack... So much thought has gone into this bag, so much detail, so much versatility. All this screams the utmost quality available today and the most well thought out and executed tail bag to date. Well done! Youve set the bar very high.
